Anniversary

SnowWhite&PrinceCharming

(Ash writes:)  What a great weekend!  Lots of time off to kick back or get things done around the house, time to spend with my lover, time to catch up on hobbies I have been too busy for recently.  Of course, all of this leaves me with a TON of work to catch up on when the weekend is over.  Today I had 400 emails in my inbox.  Wow.  Mind you, 75% of that was Spam and was immediately deleted, but 100 emails all requiring a thoughtful, factual reply can sometimes be just as daunting.

Saturday was our one year anniversary.  It was a wonderful day.  We took Charlie to the dog park along with my sister's dog, Desdemona (who, if you remember, I raised as my own when I was living with my parents).  My family was out of town on vacation, so we were dogsitting.

Next, we went to Barnes & Noble (my favorite store on earth) to bum around.  Unknown to me, Josh had special ordered the PostSecret book so I could have it for my very own!  It's awesome.  I love it.

Then, we had dinner at a great local restaurant called Grille on the Greens (it's located on a golf resort).  There was hardly anyone there when we arrived, so we got great seats inside so we could hear the live music outside.  It started to get busy at about the time we got our salads, but the service was great and the food was excellent.  I had the most amazing filet mignon EVER.  Plus, they gave us free cheesecake for our anniversary.  Our favorite!

Lastly, we went to a drive-in movie (Over the Hedge) and enjoyed cuddling in the car.  All in all, it was a great night and we had a lot of fun.  Come Sunday, we had a lot of chores to do, but the happiness never wears off with us.

Much to our disappointment, we still have yet to get orders for Joshua's new assignment in Washington, D.C.  We are so anxious to go and his new boss is looking forward to having him there.  Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do but wait on the woman who is in charge of releasing him from his current job.  We have many theories as to why she has taken so long, but none that can be proven.  Until then, we are just waiting her out.

I've added a LOT of pictures.  The main album is our current apartment, which can be compared to the photos of the old apartment if you sort through the older albums.  Additionally, I added a Charlie dog album, and a scenery-exploration of the Animas River in Durango, CO, a trip we took when we were in NM for Jessica's service.  More stuff to come soon when I can get the time to tinker!

Congrats!!!
I'm glad to hear that your still feeling the love with your love.  In August I will be married for two years (wow, time goes so fast). It's been a true roller coaster ride with it's highs and its lows but the lows make the highs seem so much sweeter.  I truley feel that I love, respect, and appreaciate him more and more every day.  Again congrats, I wish you both tons of happiness and joy to come.
